Empowering young women from Asia to become changemakers for the future.
The Ching Tien Foundation for Women empowers women from Asia to become confident, internationally-engaged leaders who drive positive change in their communities and beyond. Through scholarships, mentorship, and transformative learning experiences, we invest deeply in the potential of women—equipping them with knowledge, networks, and resilience to thrive in higher education, and to lead with purpose in an interconnected world.
Our ambition extends beyond academic excellence—the Ching Tien Foundation for Women equips the next generation of changemakers to shape the world they want to live in. Through personalized mentorship and peer-learning cohorts, each student is encouraged to think critically about local and international issues, engaging in cross-cultural dialogue that fosters empathy and understanding. She gains hands-on experience in leadership and volunteerism, culminating in a “Giving Back” project that marks her first step towards creating lasting impact.
”The Ching Tien Foundation does magic. It gives everyone wings to fly and the vision to look beyond themselves.

”The Ching Tien Foundation is far more than a scholarship program — it is a community that believes in me, supports me, and inspires me to become the best version of myself.

Why Asia?
The world needs more women leaders. Women make up half the global population, but their representation in leadership lags far behind men, especially in Asia and in communities where gender roles are deeply entrenched. Studies show that closing the gender gap in leadership not only improves the lives of women, but women leaders are more likely to focus on education, healthcare and social welfare, creating more inclusive societies. When women are empowered to lead, everyone moves forward.
The Ching Tien Foundation for Women grew out of Educating Girls of Rural China, the grassroots charity founded by Ching Tien—an award-winning advocate for women’s empowerment—in 2005. After 18 years of supporting over 2,000 young women to complete high school and university with a graduation rate of over 99%, the organization evolved its mission in response to need.
Expanding upon the impact of EGRC, The Ching Tien Foundation for Women equips aspiring women leaders from diverse Asian backgrounds with opportunities to realize their full leadership potential.
