Message from Ching Tien
Dear friends and supporters,
At the start of this holiday season, I am excited to report some recent developments at the Foundation and in particular with regard to our six undergraduate leadership scholars. After four months of online preparation work provided by our Foundation, they came to Canada over the summer to take part in a four-week long leadership program at Royal Roads University. During their time in Canada, I spent valuable time with them in person, and connected them with local women leaders. This special experience has transformed these young women, and inspired them to take on their own Giving Back Projects. I have been personally involved in their projects since the planning stage, which are now in their execution phase. I am proud to share the details of their meaningful projects and will keep you updated on the progress in the New Year!
Support our Circle of Giving Campaign
The holidays are a season of giving. I am a believer that it is especially meaningful to give back to causes that are close to our hearts.
At the Ching Tien Foundation for Women, we see your generosity as a vital part of the Circle of Giving that powers our work. Your generous financial support equips the Foundation with the resources to recruit deserving young women and develop impactful scholarship programs that combine academic and leadership training with robust mentorship. These programs transform young women from Asia into leaders and changemakers who go on to give back to their communities and continue this positive Circle of Giving.
Today, for the first time, we are launching the Ching Tien Foundation Circle of Giving campaign. I hope we can count on your support!

From my own growing up experience and currently dealing with some troubled students, I know that a good teacher can create profound differences in youth’s lives. Besides my daily teaching, I decided to take on five troubled teens and spend one on one time with them weekly to improve their current situation as my “giving back” project.

Xue Peng
Project Name: Big Sister Project
Project Length: 10 months
Estimated Impact: 1+
Xue is a senior student at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, majoring in Business English. She currently holds an intern position in retail sales at Decathlon, Hangzhou.
I experienced many hardships and discrimination while growing up. My parents divorced when I was very young. Besides losing my father, I did not receive love and care from my mother either. My mother worked most of the time to earn money, and she favored my younger brother. I was angry and rebellious through my childhood.
When I was planning my giving back project, I met with a 12-year-old girl on my last trip back to Gansu in the fall. She reminded me of my childhood. She is in the same elementary school I attended. She is an angry 12-year-old, does not communicate with her mother and her teacher. I could see my younger self through this girl. I decided to take her on as my giving back project.

My project is to provide online one-on-one services. Each of the participants will receive three free sessions –
- Passion and strength exploration
